About Friendship

Nothing lengthy today. Just sharing this–another poem by Melody Lowes in which she muses about friendship. It makes me think about the gift of great  friendships I have and have had in the past.

I encourage you to pause for a minute today as I am, and reflect on your own friendships. How have they been like “pollen” to you? How have they helped to shape who you are and are becoming? How are you being this kind of friend to others?

  1. Friendships…..Hmmmm……The people who have inspired me the most seems to be the people I have fought to be around with no avail. Not the same feeling on the other end, a different clique, not sure. But I still think about them often and how they influenced my life. And many who had influence were never in friendships…..they were in chance meetings. Strangers, yet kindred spirits.

    • Debbie, no doubt we humans are complex–and sometimes disappointing 😦 — creatures for better and for worse. It reminds me of something I tweeted recently:
The quality of human life on our planet is nothing more than the sum total of our daily interactions with one another. (Desmond/ Mpho Tutu in The Book of Forgiving, which I’m currently reading)
It’s good to hear from you. Thanks for joining in.
